About The Pine in the Valley
The Pine in the Valley jewellery is inspired by nature and the desire to limit our impact on the planet. Buying and owning jewellery doesn’t need to cost the earth.
I found my way to silversmithing after a difficult year in 2017. I signed up for a silversmithing summer school as I had a strong desire to do something with my hands and to do something just for 'me'. I fell in love and haven’t stopped making since. For me, silversmithing is very mindful and I love to lose myself to the process of making.
I love to make individual personalised pieces, particularly for parents or that help to remember a lost loved one.
My work is evolving. As well the core designs I am proud of, I try to bring something new to my customers regularly.
I am working to be as eco conscious as possible. I use recycled materials whenever possible: this is a work in progress. So far, I'm using recycled sterling silver, fsc certified cardboard jewellery boxes (they still look pretty and are very high quality!) and recycled and recyclable print materials. I try wherever possible to reuse outer postal packaging.
My sales also fundraise for two special charities who cared for my son and my family: SSNAP at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford, and Helen and Douglas House Children’s Hospice. One pound from each sale will be divided between these two amazing charities.
